Provided Third-line support, Datacenter Manager-Delegate and local caretaker for all global servers hosted in the Netherlands and Belgium. Backups made using a StorageTek 470 library with mixed NDMP fibre drives for the NAS and 8 DLT700 tape drivers running Netbackup 5.0. Enforced the Sarbanes Oxley guidelines on the UNIX environment. Providing maintenance, documentation and consolidation techniques.

Mobile company firm; a subsidiary of France Telecom and the Orange Group. Provided technical guidance and management for Solaris (Sun and Fujitsu platforms) and Windows based implementations of core services (content billing, performance management, etc). Reduced system-deployment time by nearly 30% by documenting and standardising system-administration practices to stream-line deployment of servers in both Windows and Solaris environments. Documentation skills were repeatedly commended.

Technical Lead and Project Management
ETS Consultant co-ordinating the reconciliation of a data-centre. Called back as for a Technical Lead role to co-ordinate a pilot project to reconcile privilege accounts into a "break-glass" system. Saved valuable man-hours by proactively collating information from various sources creating an inventory of 10,000+ servers.
Returned again as for a Technical Project Manager role on behalf of Fujitsu-Siemens to manage the installation of two PrimePower 2500 and SMCs. JPMC asked me to return for a Technical Project Manager role to oversee and organise the space consolidation of their primary datacentre.

Solaris and Sun Cluster 3.0 administrator for the BBC to provide content for the 3G mobile phone system "3". Duties involved failover testing, self taught an unknown backup system (Sony Petaserve) to expert level (vendor recognised). Extended assignment and saved the client over £30,000 in training by devising and executing a training scheme covering Solaris 8, Sun Cluster 3.0, T3 administration and Petaserve for the client's System Administrators.

Duel role Operations Manager, implementing procedures compliant to ITIL definitions and Sun Cluster 3.1 Administrator. Implemented ITIL based Change Control, Software Release, Capacity and Test Management processes and fined tuned such procedures to suit the client. Administered for 6 months before hand over.

Completed a gap analysis with regards to ITIL for a government body (security sector). Service Assurance Review involved interviewing, gathering case studies and calculating financial savings of implementing ITIL. System Administrator in preparation for the UK's first e-Government rollout. Environment contained 200+ Sun Rays. Exposure to Sun Cluster 3.0 obtained. Mastered Sun Cluster 3.0 administration and transferred knowledge to client’s System Administrators. Trained junior Administrators in Solaris Administration. Introduced best practice initiatives within the IT department to reduce support hours in this environment.

Head Unix Administrator and Technical Lead:
Technical Lead in an internet service provider for the roll-out of three Point Of Presences (dialup internet access) in three European countries. Managed every individual Solaris installation (60 servers), all documentation, configuration and post implementation support/monitoring.
Further duties included my role as the Senior Unix and Sun Cluster 2.0 Administrator responsible for 60 Solaris Sparc/Intel based servers including all server types from Sun U5 to E3500 inclusive. Designed, documented and implemented backup solution for the networks using Legato Backup.
